African and African American Literature
African American writers, athletes, politicians, historical and inspirational figures offer young people the opportunity to learn about their diverse culture both in the United States and abroad. From autobiographies to legendary folktales, each month the sections below will be updated to reflect new publications in these categories. This month, you can read reviews of the Coretta Scott King Award and Honor Books. We've also updated reviews and awards for authors Jerry Pinkney and Patricia McKissack.
In addition, we will be offering interviews with African American authors and illustrators, such as:
