FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Marilyn Courtot CLCD Company, LLC (301) 469-2070 1-800-508-5782 marilyn@childrenslit.com June 20, 2006 - The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database Company, LLC (CLCD) is pleased to announce that reviews from NSTA Recommends are now available at the CLCD. NSTA Recommends reviews high-quality books, software, kits, and videos that serve as useful science teacher resource materials for grades K-College. An experienced teacher in the appropriate subject and grade level reviews each resource for scientific accuracy, classroom usefulness, and overall value. That draft commentary is edited and enhanced by a leading science educator. Marilyn Courtot, President of The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database Company, LLC, remarks, "We are extremely happy to include the reviews from NSTA Recommends. It is essential today for librarians, teachers and other professionals working with children's and young adult books and other materials to know the titles they can rely on for accuracy, clarity and the ability to immerse the reader in the subject matter. We know our subscribers are looking for more reviews on science-related software and videos. These reviews from the National Science Teachers Association are a wonderful enhancement to CLCD." Well over 2,000 NSTA Recommends product and book reviews from the last five years will appear in the CLCD database, and NSTA is adding many more reviews each month. NSTA Recommends is an online review service that is the premier source for thoughtful, objective recommendations of science teaching materials. NSTA has identified a panel of outstanding science educators who serve as the backbone of the system. NSTA Recommends lets teachers tell teachers about the most helpful science resources available for grades K-College. About the new agreement with CLCD, David Beacom, Publisher of NSTA Online says, "Through this partnership with The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD), the audience for NSTA Recommends reviews will expand even further, putting top quality resources in the hands of more science educators."
